Occupational Health and Safety at Alliance Plastics

The Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970 impose statutory duties on both employers and employees. In order to meet these duties, a Safety Management system has been set up in conjunction with Filtrona plc. which promotes continuous improvement in health and safety, risk reduction and monitoring. It is the policy of this company to ensure that this Safety Management system and responsibilities for health and safety are assigned, accepted and fulfilled at all levels within the company.

The company will ensure that all practical steps are taken to safeguard the health, safety and welfare of all employees, visitors and contractors to all premises or operations within our control.

The company will ensure employees are provided with such information, instruction, training and supervision as is necessary to secure the health and safety at work of all employees.

It shall be the duty of all employees to take reasonable steps for the health and safety of themselves and any other person who may be affected by their acts or omissions.

It is essential that all persons within the company contribute towards making work areas as safe as possible, and where necessary, cooperate with the company to ensure compliance to legal obligations.

The company remains committed to consultations with employees over health, safety and welfare matters and by way of promoting this employee involvement, the company will actively encourage employees from all areas of the company to establish safety committees and become involved in regular safety audits. This will be encouraged at all premises and operations within our control.

The company will provide information to employees and shareholders pertaining to the health and safety of employees and will be regularly reviewed and discussed at all levels within the company.

Periodically, the policy statement and organization will be reviewed and updated as necessary. The President is ultimately responsible for ensuring that this policy is prepared, implemented and reviewed throughout Alliance.

Alliance Plastics obtained the OHSAS18001 Standard Occupational Health and Safety Certification in January 2010.
